Casa La scala is a villa built in 1958 on a project by Vittoriano ViganĂ² for the French artist AndrĂ© Bloc. The villa, built in ‘brutalist’ architectural style in reinforced concrete, stands isolated on a natural terrace on Lake Garda, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
The residence takes its name “La scala” (The Staircase) because of the long staircase that leads from the villa to the shore of the lake, to a small private beach with a jetty used for mooring boats.
The large windows give the villa a feeling of space and light that filters through the large verandas and the impression of being on board a cruise ship from which to observe the waters below the lake.
